History was made at Monza, on Sunday morning, as Spanish outfit Campos Racing became Teams Championship winners for the first time in the FIA Formula 3 Championship era.

Campos overcame a 19-point deficit to Trident to become Teams' Champions for the first time after beating the one-time Teams Champions to glory.

All three Campos drivers secured points finishes in Sunday's Feature Race, including a 1-2 result. It was Thailand's Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak who was victorious to take his first FIA Formula 3 Feature Race victory.

Inthraphuvasak finished ahead of teammate and Red Bull junior driver Nikola Tsolov, who with a second-place finish secured second in the Drivers' Championship.

Despite a difficult year, where he was one of the title favourites at the start of it, Prema's Noel Leon completed the podium in third, after passing pole sitter Brad Benavides in the latter stages.

Although Trident have lost out to Campos in the Teams' Championship fight, their duo Noah Stromsted and Rafael Camara, gave their best efforts to secure it with pure brilliant drives through the field.

Stromsted put a stunning drive together to finish sixth after starting 19th, which will be one that will delight the Mercedes Formula One team, of which Stromsted is a junior driver of.

However, perhaps the drive of the day at Monza in general was from Camara. From 30th and last on the grid, Camara fought brilliantly through the field to finish fifth - a true champions drive.

It was a dramatic event with many Safety Cars due to many incidents. Seven drivers retired and they were: Charlie Wurz, Gerrard Xie, Fernando Barrichello, Ugo Ugochukwu, Louis Sharp, Matias Zagazeta and Ivan Domingues.

After inheriting Sprint Race victory on Saturday, Roman Bilinski secured seventh in Sunday's Feature Race ahead of Williams Academy driver Alessandro Giusti of MP Motorsport.

Mari Boya was ninth and Red Bull junior Tim Tramnitz completed the points-scoring positions.

FIA Formula 3 is complete for 2025 and will return to racing action in 2026. Formula 3 post-season testing is still to come in 2025 and will take place later this Autumn.

​Red Bull junior driver of MP Motorsport Tim Tramnitz has made it two Monza Sprint Race victories in two consecutive Formula 3 seasons on Saturday morning.

Tramnitz took victory after starting from third on the grid, following the reversal of the top 12 to form the Sprint Race starting grid.

The German driver, who came into the round with an outside shot at finishing second in the championship, has now brought himself right into contention with him finishing ahead of Mari Boya and Nikola Tsolov finishing out of the points.

Roman Bilinski put together a strong drive from seventh on the grid to finish second, while McLaren Development driver Martinius Stenshorne completed the podium in third.

Sprint Race pole sitter Laurens Van Hoepen, of ART Grand Prix, was fourth. While a best finish of the season for DAMS Lucas Oil and Matias Zagazeta saw the Peruvian complete the top five.

It was an eventful 18-lap race with two Safety Cars, one at the start and one towards the end of the race. The first was for Ivan Domingues, who picked up damage at the first turn.

The second Safety Car was also for an incident at turn 1, which proved three into one does not go. Charlie Wurz was the filling in a Prema sandwich and came off the worst and retired.

Brando Badoer and Noel Leon were the two Prema drivers involved but both were able to continue. Wurz joined Domingues in just two retirements out of the 30 that started.

Fernando Barrichello's debut race saw finish in 20th after starting 28th. He finished ahead of both of his teammates Nicola Marinangeli and Brad Benavides.

Benavides dropped towards the back of the finishers due to a 10-second time penalty for causing a collision with Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, at Ascari, on lap one. The American will start on pole in Sunday's Feature Race.

Trident and Campos are locked in battle this weekend with the Teams' Championship to be decided on the final weekend of the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Championship.

Trident have all three drivers starting outside the top 12 for both races with Rafael Camara, 2025 FIA Formula 3 Drivers' Champion, the lowest down the order.

Due to losing his only qualifying lap for track limits, he starts 30th for both races. In the Sprint Race he gained 18 places to finish 12th and will be hoping he can do better in the Feature Race, with four more laps at his disposal.

The Feature Race will complete the racing in the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Championship on Sunday morning, with an all-American front row. Ugo Ugochukwu will start second while pole position will be the AIX of Benavides - for the second time in three rounds.

AIX Racing's American driver Brad Benavides made it two FIA Formula 3 Aramco Pole Positions in the last three rounds of the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Championship, after topping qualifying on Friday afternoon.

Benavides set teh fastest time in what was the second grouped qualifying of the Formula 3 season, following the first, which took lace at the infamous Circuit de Monaco in May.

It was the AIX Racing driver who secured pole position after topping Group B with a 1:38.120. His time was the fastest across the entirety of qualifying.

More crucially he beat fellow countryman Ugo Ugochukwu, who was fastest in the prior Group A session. McLaren Development driver Ugochukwu, who topped Friday Free Practice, topped Group A prior to Group B, with a 1:38.618.

With being the second fastest driver in Group B, Noel Leon was third overall, when combining the two qualifying groups together, as he finished second in Group B.

Due to Benavides' time being faster than Ugochukwu's,Leon took third ahead of Campos' Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak. Red Bull junior Nikola Tsolov, Inthraphuvasak's Campos teammate was third in group and fifth overall.

The qualifying groups were divided into groups of 15 and depending on the race number of the driver, determined which group they found themselves in. The odd-numbered cars were in Group A while the even-numbered cars were in Group B.

The story of Group A was that already crowned 2025 FIA Formula 3 Drivers' Champion, Rafael Camara, did not set a representative lap time within the 107% rule.

He qualifies 30th in the overall classification, which includes behind fellow countryman Fernando Barrichello, who is making his FIA Formula 3 debut at Monza this weekend.

Qualifying sixth in the slower Group A was Laurens Van Hoepen, which means in the combined qualifying he was 12th. This means that the Dutch driver of ART Grand Prix will start Saturday's Sprint Race from pole position.

McLaren Development Driver Ugo Ugochukwu was fastest in the final Free Practice session of the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Championship at Monza, on Friday morning.

Ugochukwu, of Prema Racing, topped the final Free Practice session of the season on his team's home soil. A great start to the weekend for Prema included Noel Leon in the top three.

Leon was behind Campos Racing's Nikola Tsolov, as the Red Bull junior driver finished second. Tsolov is fighting his teammate Mari Boya for second overall in the Drivers' Championship.

It is a weekend for Campos too though as they are locked in a two-bay battle for the Teams' Championship with Trident - the team that have taken the last three FIA Formula 3 champions to glory including Rafael Camara.

Camara clinched the title with a round to spare last time out at Budapest and will be focusing this weekend on aiming to help Trident to secure their second-ever FIA Formula 3 Teams' Championship.

The session was heavily disrupted following a red flag. The cause was Rodin Motorsport's Roman Bilinski, who found the barrier at Ascari.

Qualifying will continue the Friday action, in the final weekend of the season at Monza.

​For one final time in 2025, FIA Formula 3 are going racing this coming weekend, at the legendary Monza circuit, with a Teams' Championship to be decided.

Despite Drivers' Champion Rafael Camara being crowned champion prior to the August summer break, his team Trident are locked in an intense Teams' Championship battle with Spanish outfit Campos Racing.

Camara clinched the championship last time out at Budapest and following him winning the title there and then, he is the first driver in the modern FIA Formula 3 era to enter the season finale as champion.

The Ferrari Academy driver and his teammates Noah Stromsted and Charlie Wurz will be looking to secure Teams' Championship glory for Trident. Campos Racing will be looking to clinch it themselves though with their trio of: Mari Boya, Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak and Nikola Tsolov.

Trident are in search for their second Teams' Championship, while Campos are in search for their first in the FIA Formula 3 Championship.

Prema Racing have won all of the previous Teams' Championship, apart from Trident's success in 2021. After a difficult year for Prema, this has opened the door to one of Trident or Campos to take the title.

Two of Campos' drivers, Boya and Tsolov, are also contesting over second in the championship with two points separating them - in Boya's favour.

MP Motorsport's Tim Tramnitz and Hitech TGR's Martinius Stenshorne are still mathematically in the fight for second but both will need significant things to take place if they were to do so.

For the season finale at Monza, we will see a few changes to the grid. James Hedley, who had a best FIA Formula 3 result in the Budapest Sprint Race last time out, has switched from AIX Racing to Van Amersfoort.

Hedley leaves his Car 26 AIX Racing machine to replace Mexican driver Santiago Ramos, who has occupied Car 21 for the previous nine rounds. Taking Hedley's place in Car 26 is Fernando Barrichello, son of multiple Formula One race winner Rubens Barrichello.

Barrichello, who has spent 2025 competing in the EuroFormula Open Championship with Team Motorpark, will make his FIA Formula 3 debut at Monza - ahead of his full time drive in 2026.

The Monza circuit is iconic with the high speeds, overtaking opportunities and fast-flowing nature. Nicknamed the "Temple of Speed," Monza has delivered some epic moments at all levels of motorsport - especially FIA Formula 3.

With 11 turns and a lap distance of 5.793, Monza is one of the fastest laps on the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Championship calendar. Plenty of overtaking opportunities present themselves with the help of two DRS zones.

In terms of the two races to come across the weekend, 18 laps should present themselves in the Saturday Sprint Race, while Sunday's Feature Race will see 22 laps.

In a historic FIA Formula 3 campaign, with a round to spare, Rafael Camara of Trident became the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Champion during Sunday's Feature Race in Budapest.

Camara secured victory on the day he became the third Trident driver in third successive FIA Formula 3 campaigns to win the Drivers' Championship - following in the footsteps of fellow Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto and the current Formula 2 championship leader Leonardo Fornaroli.

The Ferrari Driver Academy member started on pole position and led every single lap despite having to control the restarts effectively through two Safety Car periods. To further this, he had his work cut out to control the pace with the rolling start.

Camara has secured the Formula 3 title and is the first driver since the championship was branded as FIA Formula 3 in 2019, to have won the title before the final round of the season. He was the first in both GP3 and FIA Formula 3 history since George Russell managed it in 2017.

The Trident driver secured victory in his championship-crowning race ahead of Aston Martin Academy driver Mari Boya, who finished in second position. Fellow Ferrari Driver Academy member Tuukka Taponen finished third to complete the podium for ART Grand Prix.

Nikola Tsolov, who came into the championship round second in the standings, had a difficult weekend after a poor qualifying saw him start 21st for both Saturday's Sprint Race and Sunday's Feature Race.

 A great drive saw him finish sixth on Sunday but it was not enough to keep in the championship fight until the final round of the season at Monza in September. Unfortunately for the Red Bull junior, he was unable to do so.

It was a race that was full of action with two Safety Cars. The first was caused by Brad Benavides being tagged into the wall by the Rodin of Roman Bilinski, which completed a miserable weekend for the AIX Racing driver.

The second Safety Car was for two machines in the form of Ugo Ugochukwu and Gerrard Xie. The Prema driver an innocent party with the Hitech TGR driver misjudging the corner at turn 5 and both lost out on a chance for good points.

It was tricky conditions in the race though as early morning rain at the Hungaroring meant that wet-weather tyres were required.

Charlie Wurz secured fourth after just missing out on a podium in the latter stages, making it two Trident machines in the top five. Van Amersfoort Racing's Theophile Nael was fifth with Tsolov leading home a train of Brando Badoer, Laurens Van Hoepen, Alessandro Giusti and Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak.

Inthraphuvasak, Saturday's Sprint Race winner, completed the points scoring in 10th position with Badoer, Van Hoepen and Giusti in seventh, eighth and ninth respectively.

At the end of the round, Camara has a lead of 48 points at the top of the FIA Formula 3 Championship and with the maximum points score in Monza being 39, Camara was crowned champion. Boya, Tsolov's Campos teammate is now second in the championship, with the Bulgarian relegated to third.

Just the Teams' Championship is left to sort in this year's championship with a two-horse race between Trident at Campos set to go all the way down to the final race of the season in Italy - at the infamous Monza circuit.

That will be after the summer break though and for now the moment is with Rafael Camara, who is the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Drivers' Champion.

A second FIA Formula 3 victory for Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak in the penultimate sprint race of the 2025 season at the Hungaroring in Budapest, on Saturday morning.

After starting from reverse grid pole position, Inthraphuvasak controlled the race out front and led every one of the 19 laps. Also, he handled two Safety Car periods well to put himself onto the top step of the podium.

Inthraphuvasak won despite a final lap showdown in store between he and Prema Racing's Ugo Ugochukwu, who finished in second place. Charlie Wurz took third for Trident on the final lap, with a pass on the AIX of James Hedley.

Championship leader Rafael Camara finished eighth in the Sprint Race and has a great chance to secure championship glory with a round to spare, should he win the Feature Race on Sunday morning.

At the end of the Feature Race on Sunday, Camara needs a lead of 39 points or more to win the title this weekend. Both of his closest championship challengers, Tim Tramnitz and Nikola Tsolov, failed to score.

Saturday morning in Budapest meant Sprint Race time for round nine of the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Championship and the penultimate one of the season too. Just one more round following action at Budapest, which will be the usual September trip to Monza.

First though was the matter of racing in Budapest and following Rafael Camara's fantastic qualifying lap on Friday, he had to wait until Sunday to start from the front of the field. As is usual, the top 12 from qualifying formed the grid for the Sprint Race.

Starting on pole was Campos Racing driver Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak and alongside him was AIX Racing's James Hedley, who started second. The second row of the grid consisted of James Wharton and Alessandro Giusti.

The lights went out and it was a good start from Inthraphuvasak who led into the first turn from Hedley and Wharton. Hedley was probably fortunate to not pick up a puncture when Wharton made contact with the rear of the AIX.

Wharton and Hedley were in constant battle throughout the first lap but it was the AIX of Hedley who maintained second position.

Inthraphuvasak was leading out in front but any chance to build up a lead was distinguished with the introduction of a Safety Car following Giusti making contact with the wall at turn 13. The Frenchman of MP Motorsport had suspension damage from contact with Ugo Ugochukwu one turn earlier.

Ugochukwu was fine but Giusti's race was over and he was visibly distraught.

The Safety Car was withdrawn and lap four was the first lap of racing back under green flag conditions and the restart was a good one from Inthraphuvasak and Hedley and Wharton maintained their positions in second and third respectively.

Ugochukwu had been putting on some great drives through the field in previous races with him picking up previous podiums in Austria and Spa Francorchamps. The American driver was intent on doing so again.

He first found himself up into fourth with an unorthodox place to make an overtake. Around the outside of turn 13 on Prema teammate and fellow McLaren junior Brando Badoer. Ugochukwu soon had his sights on Wharton in third.

Lap seven and Ugochukwu got by the ART of Wharton. Both graduates from the 2024 Formula Regional European Championship but it was the Prema of Ugochukwu, who emerged in front. Next up the road for Ugochukwu was Hedley.

The following lap and Nicola Lacorte became the second retirement of the race. He pulled into the pit lane with suspension damage after an unseen incident with DAMS Lucas Oil teammate Matias Zagazeta. This was noted by Race Control.

A few laps later and Ugo Ugochukwu was up to second. He had caught James Hedley and on lap 11, the American made a pass around turn five. Sadly though this was not shown on the live TV feed.

Brad Benavides became the third retirement of the race on lap 14 with a mechanical issue. It had not been his Saturday and would have to go again in Sunday's Feature Race.

There was battles up and down the field and the Prema of Noel Leon was looking to make moves to join his teammates in the higher ends of the points positions. On lap 15, he was engaged in a battle with one of Van Amersfoort Racing's cars - his former team.

Theophile Nael and Leon went side by side up towards turn four and both went off the road side-by-side and collided off the track in a clumsy incident. Noel Leon was forced to retire from the race with damage while Nael carried on. This was to be investigated after the race.

The Safety Car was brought back out to remove Leon's car. Once the Safety Car was withdrawn on the penultimate lap, there was one racing lap remaining.

A key change of position happened on the final lap for the final place on the podium as Trident's Charlie Wurz managed to pass Hedley, who was unable to take a maiden podium in FIA Formula 3.

Inthraphuvasak held on though from a charging Ugochukwu and therefore at the end of lap 19, took his second win in just three rounds of racing in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. Charlie Wurz was third ahead of Hedley and Wharton, who completed the top five.

Brando Badoer was sixth ahead of Mari Boya in seventh. Camara was eighth with Nael and Gerrard Xie completing the top 10.

The Feature Race is to come on Sunday.

Ferrari Academy driver Rafael Camara topped qualifying in the very latter stages, to secure a fifth Formula 3 pole position of the season, on Friday afternoon at the Hungaroring.

The Trident driver had a session, which was a roller coaster of emotions, with traffic and exceeding of track limits building up the picture of his session across the 30 minutes of running at Budapest, Hungary.

Camara secured a fifth pole position in just his ninth round of FIA Formula 3, with a last-gasp lap, as he topped qualifying by the third smallest margin in the history of the FIA Formula 3 Championship - eight thousandths (0.008).

Mari Boya was second for Campos Racing, with the Aston Martin Driver Academy member looking strong throughout the session and being a strong contender for the Aramco Pole Position Trophy throughout.

There was drama though for Camara's championship rivals who both qualified outside the all-important top 12. MP Motorsport's Tim Tramnitz, third in the championship, could only qualify in 17th position.

Nikola Tsolov, who is second in the championship, could only secure 21st in the order and will start there for both races. This is not what Tsolov needed as the Red Bull junior driver is fighting to keep his championship hopes alive this weekend at the Hungaroring.

Should Camara leave the penultimate round of the season with a points lead of 39 points or more, then he will become the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Drivers' Champion, with a round to spare, as the final round is to come at Monza in September.

Great qualifying sessions for Tuukka Taponen, who was third, but also Hitech's Gerrard Xie, who secured a best-ever Formula 3 qualifying result of fourth. Van Amersfoort Racing's Theophile Nael rounded off the top five.

Campos' Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak will start the Saturday Sprint Race from pole position after the Thai driver secured 12th place in qualifying. Starting on the front row alongside will be James Hedley, with the British driver aiming for a maiden FIA Formula 3 podium.

The Saturday Sprint Race at the Hungaroring will be next in the FIA Formula 3 weekend at the Hungaroring, with a start time of 10:05 local time.

Ferrari Academy driver Rafael Camara was fastest in the penultimate Free Practice session of 2025, at the Hungaroring, on Friday morning in the Hungarian capital of Budapest.

Camara was quickest once again in a Free Practice session in 2025, with a brilliant lap of 1:33.888, which was over two tenths faster than Belgium Aramco Pole Position Trophy winner Brad Benavides.

Rodin Motorsport's Roman Bilinski was third with Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak and Noah Stromsted rounding off the top five positions after the first session of the weekend in Budapest.

Despite a positive start for Rafael Camara, it was not as good of a session for Nikola Tsolov. Although the Red Bull junior driver was sixth in the session, he had a mechanical issue at the end of the session, which brought a conclusion to the end of the 45-minute Free Practice.

The gap is 28 points between Camara and Tsolov at the top of the championship, with 33 points the gap between Camara and MP Motorsport's Tim Tramnitz, who is third in the championship standings.

Should Camara leave the Hungaroring with a 39-point lead or greater, he will win the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Championship this weekend. 

He was top of the time sheets through most of the session and traded times for the majority, with the MP Motorsport of Red Bull junior Tim Tramnitz. Tramnitz ended up finishing 12th though and is off to see the Stewards for a practice start infringement.

Charlie Wurz, fresh off a maiden podium in Spa last time out was seventh ahead of MP Motorsport's Bruno Del Pino in eighth. Mari Boya and Ugo Ugochukwu rounded off the top 10 positions.

Qualifying is to come later, during Friday afternoon. Local start time of 15:00.

Two rounds to go in the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Championship, as the 30-car championship visited Budapest for round nine. It is a critical round in the context of this year's championship.

With full points having not been awarded, in the last two Feature Race results, there are many points that have gone potentially missing from this Drivers' Championship picture. Rafael Camara still leads the way for Trident and mathematically could wrap up the championship this weekend.

Should Camara leave the round with a lead greater than 39 points, more than the maximum weekend points amount for a driver, then the Brazilian will be crowned FIA Formula 3 Drivers' Champion for 2025 - with a round to spare.

28 points is the gap between Camara and Nikola Tsolov, who is second in the Drivers' Championship fight. Tim Tramnitz is third in the standings just 33 points off the championship lead, so he is not out of it just yet.

Formula 3 descends on the Hungaroring for round nine of the championship with three rounds remaining. The circuit is situated in the Hungarian capital of Budapest.

The visit to the Hungaroring for Formula 3 has been a staple to the calendar ever since the very first series of Formula 3 in 2019. FIA Formula 3 even visited the circuit in support of the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix without partnering Formula 2.

Many great moments have happened at the circuit in Formula 3 previous to this year’s upcoming round with many different winners such as Dennis Hauger, Marcus Armstrong, Christian Lundgaard and Theo Pourchaire, who took his second Formula 3 win at the circuit.

The Hungaroring is made up of 14 corners that form a lap distance of 4.381km. Two DRS zones at the very start of the lap into turn 1 and turn 2 are just two of many overtaking opportunities for the Formula 3 cars to make overtakes due to the much smaller size in comparison to a Formula 1 car.

Overtaking opportunities are also available into turn 4 and turn 12 should the drivers feel brave enough to make the moves work.

In the races, in the 2024 Hungary round, the sprint race will oversee 19 laps on Saturday with 24 laps to come in the Sunday morning feature race.

Friday gets the weekend started, with Free Practice and Qualfiying.
