Chloe Chambers goes fastest in qualifying in tricky conditions at the Miami International Autodrome to secure back-to-back Pole positions.

The American driver set a 2:00.458, leading the way ahead of her Campos teammate Alisha Palmowski in P2 and Doriane Pin in P3.

Only seven hundredths of a second separated the top four with Ella Lloyd joining Pin on the second row for Race 2 on Sunday.

Championship leader Maya Weug will start in P1 for Race 1 later on today due to the reverse grid format.

As it happened

Green light was shown at the end of the pitlane to get the 30 minutes of qualifying underway. Out of the ordinary for F1 Academy to qualify on a Saturday, but with threats of rain lingering, it was sure to be an interesting session.

Chloe Chambers was the first to put a time on  the board and took the first provisional pole of the session for Campos Racing, continuing a great weekend for her so far after showing great pace in both practice sessions. She beat Palmowski to P1 by just 0.018s!

The rain made it's entrance shortly after in full force and it was clear that track position and early laps were going to be crucial for the drivers and precision was key.

Drivers were struggling with the conditions out on track with Turn 11 proving the lethal point for many of the drivers.

Chambers was able to secure Pole with conditions effecting the amount of running that other drivers were able to get in and many times remaining unchanged.

Palmowski made it 1-2 for the Campos team with Doriane Pin slotting into P3 for Prema.

Be sure to stay tuned for Race 1 later on today which will be taking place at 14.55 local time (19:55 UK time).
