Arvid Lindblad: Formula One's newest talent

Formula One's newest driver Arvid Lindblad has graduated from the FIA Formula 2 Championship, as he prepares for his Grand Prix debut, in two weeks time.

Lindblad will be racing with the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls outfit, where he will replace Isack Hadjar, who has replaced Yuki Tsunoda in the main Red Bull Racing team to partner four-time Formula One World Champion Max Verstappen.

The 18-year-old finished sixth in his rookie Formula 2 campaign in 2025 and with some stand out performances including his maiden win in Jeddah, Lindblad has proven he is ready to take on the latest challenge despite his rapid rise through the Formula categories.

It was 2021 when Lindblad joined the Red Bull family and in the next calendar year, he would begin his single-seater journey in the Italian F4 Championship back in 2022, where he joined the series for the final three rounds ahead of a first full season in 2023.

In a highly competitive field, Lindblad finished third overall while also claiming the Rookies' Championship crown ahead of the likes of Ferrari junior Tuukka Taponen and Mercedes' backed Rashid Al Dhaheri.

For 2024, Lindblad made the step up to FIA Formula 3, staying with Prema Racing, where he had built a solid relationship over the Italian F4 campaign. In a highly competitive campaign, Lindblad was in a seven-way title fight heading into the season finale at Monza, sharing a team with fellow contenders Dino Beganovic and Gabriele Mini.

It was in the season-opening race when Lindblad first impressed, winning in the Bahrain Sprint to kick the season off in fine form. The British driver won three more times across the season including a sensational double win at Silverstone - in front of his home crowd.

By having an opportunity to be able to drive the recent car which has had Max Verstappen
competing for the championship in. It is safe to say that Alan Permane has trust in the 18-
year-old to take on a seat at Racing Bulls.

With Lindblad taking a seat alongside Liam Lawson next season. It means that the Japanese
driver Yuki Tsunoda is out of a seat for next season and will instead be the reserve driver for
both teams in 2026.

CEO and Team Princicple of Oracle Red Bull racing Laurent Mekis stated, “Yuki has raced in
Red Bull colours for seven years now and I have had the pleasure of working with him at
both Red Bull teams.” (Oracle Red Bull Racing, 2 nd Dec 2025)

With 6 rookies being signed for the 2025 season and now 1 being signed for the 2026
season, it proves to teams that they do deserve to be in Formula 1 and competing with the
likes of World Champions.

It can therefore be seen to be another good risk that Racing Bulls have done by signing the
young Brit.

Last season they signed Isack Hadjar, newly promoted to Red Bull after an amazing season
for Racing Bulls in 2025. And the risk of signing a rookie has paid off for the team as they
currently sit in 6 th place in the constructors championship.

Hajar said “I’m so grateful to Oracle Red Bull Racing for giving me the opportunity and trust
to race at the highest level of Formula One. After all the hard work I have put in since joining
the Junior Team, it’s such a great reward.” (Oracle Red Bull Racing, 2 nd Dec 2025)

“I feel ready to go to Oracle Red Bull Racing and I am happy and proud they feel the same.
It’s an awesome move, to work with the best and learn from Max is something I can’t wait
for.” Hadjar later went on to say.

If Lindblad, has a good run in the seat at Racing Bulls like Isack Hadjar, it then proves more
to other teams that rookies are potentially are the way to go for the future instead of signing
current drivers on the Formula 1 grid.

As well as lining the young British driver up for a better seat at Red Bull or another team, if
he performs well next season.

Lindblad has spoken on his new drive at Racing Bulls saying that it has always been his goal
to be in Formula 1 and that he can’t wait to get started. (Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, 2 nd Dec
2025)
