Lando Norris won the Miami Grand Prix Sprint race, after a chaotic series of events which saw penalties for Albon, Lawson, Bearman and Verstappen. Oscar Piastri finished second and Lewis Hamilton finished third. Miami Sprint RaceKimi Antonelli started on pole for the Miami Sprint Race, with Oscar Piastri lining up next to him in second. Heavy rain had fallen before the start of the Sprint race, and condition caught out Charles Leclerc, who crashed on his way to the grid. Conditions were challenging and an immediate red flag was shown. When conditions improved, the race started as normal, with all drivers starting on intermediate tyres for the challenging conditions. Kimi started on pole but was immediately lost the position to Piastri into Turn 1. Antonelli went wide and ended up in fourth behind Verstappen and just in front of his teammate. Piastri was leading the race until a series of pit stops for slick tyres occurred. Piastri pitted, as did everyone except Lando Norris, who stayed out for one more lap. Just as Norris pitted just as a safety car was brought out as Lawson collides with Alonso, causing Fernando to go into the wall, Lawson later received a five-second penalty. Norris pitted just at the right time and came out ahead of Piastri to take the race lead. During the pit stops Max Verstappen was released into the direct line of Antonelli. Verstappen received a ten-second time penalty as Kimi had to go around the track again in order to change his tyres. Alex Albon received a five-second time penalty for going too slow behind the safety car and Ollie Bearman received a five-second time penalty for an unsafe release in the pit lane. The race finished behind the safety car and Lando Norris won the Miami Grand Prix Sprint Race, followed by Oscar Piastri and Lewis Hamilton in third. McLaren's Lando Norris, who wins the Miami sprint race from third on the grid: "My luck in Miami seems pretty good at the minute, really happy. "The pace was still very good but it's just difficult these races, you never know when to box; do you box early, it paid off for Lewis, he had a good strategy, or do you stay out later and maybe get the safety car. It"s worked two years in a row. "I probably would've preferred if this had happened tomorrow, rather than today, but I'll take it. Good job by the team. "[Another win tomorrow] is the plan. But it's tricky. There are a lot of quick guys out there. I felt good yesterday; a couple of mistakes but I'm ready to go again." And honestly, Q1, Q2 and Q3 it just improving every run. trying to find a bit more of the limit. Tiny moment on my final lap at Turn One, so I lost a bit there. But round here it's complicated with the tyres over a lap. But in the end it worked out well. I'm very happy to be on pole. The race is a whole different story but we'll try to maximise everything we can." Written by Anny Wooldridge
