For one last time in 2024, Formula 1 will go racing at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi this coming to weekend with the Constructors Championship still to be decided. It has been a season with lots of action and seven different winners, who have won multiple times. It is the most multiple winners in a single season that the Formula 1 World Championship has ever had. All seven will be hoping to add to their tallies to end the season on high. The drivers of McLaren and Ferrari will be needing the results the most as their teams are in the fight for the Constructors Championship going into the final round of the season, showing how close the fight has been this season between the two teams. It was Max Verstappen who won last time out in Qatar as the now four-time world champion has won the last four Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and could be a favourite to win his fifth in succession - which would be an incredible achievement. In relation to the fight for the Constructors Championship, the gap between McLaren and Ferrari is 21 points with McLaren having the advantage. Although it is likely McLaren will be champions, it is not mathematically over and in motorsport anything can happen. There is also second place in the drivers' championship to be sorted between McLaren's Lando Norris and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc. Following the results at Qatar, Norris leads Leclerc by eight points, meaning that the performances that each driver shows in the final round at Abu Dhabi, could be pivotal in their final championship position. A look at the track: Yas Marina Circuit, Abu DhabiFor the final round of this 24-round FIA Formula One World Championship, the paddock will descend on the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. A venue which is common for the final round of the championship. Many championship deciders have occurred around the circuit in the past 15 years and that are quite famous in the archives of Formula 1 history. Years such as 2010, 2014, 2016 have all seen the title decided at the Yas Marina Circuit but arguably the most famous title decider at the circuit was in 2021, where a controversial ending to a controversial season saw Max Verstappen take his first world title. Verstappen has won the last four Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, with the three most recent victories coming on the current layout of circuit, which had the layout changed following the 2020 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, meaning the last race of the 2021 season would be the first race on the new circuit layout. This layout will be hosting its fourth Formula One Grand Prix and is made up of 16 corners and has a lap distance of 5.281km. Around the 5.281km and 16 corners there is plenty of overtaking opportunities for the drivers to try and gain positions in Sunday's Grand Prix. Two DRS zones are around the Yas Marina Circuit, with neither being located on the start/finish straight. The two DRS zones are located down into turn six and turn nine. If the drivers can get their passes correct then there will be overtakes to look forward to on Sunday. There will be 58 laps to come on Sunday's Grand Prix, which will be a race distance of 306.183km. The lap record around this modern layout of the Yas Marina Circuit was set by Max Verstappen in 2021. Verstappen set a time of 1:26.103, which is yet to be beaten under the current regulations that came into effect at the start of 2022. In last year's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Verstappen was dominant, just like he was throughout the entire 2023 season. The Red Bull driver and then three-time world champion, took pole position with a lap just over a tenth clear of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc. As for the Grand Prix itself, Verstappen took victory by a dominant 18 seconds to Leclerc to clinch another victory to close out his incredible 2023 season. Mercedes' George Russell was third and completed the podium. All three drivers could be competing this weekend. Six drivers making way for rookies in FP1In the final round of the 2024 Formula One World Championship, there will be many rookies participating in free practice 1 as part of the criteria that team have to complete within the season. Each driver is required to miss one free practice 1 session across the season for a young driver or rookie to compete in the session and to gain experience behind a Formula 1 car to help and prepare them for a future seat. This coming Friday will see a very famous and history-breaking pairing will be happening at Scuderia Ferrari as brothers will share the same team on the same track, in the same session, for the very first time. Charles Leclerc, who will be fighting for second in the drivers championship and the Constructors Championship title, will have his brother Arthur Leclerc partnering partnering him. Leclerc has been out of Formula 2 this season, after spending the 2023 Formula 2 campaign with Dams Lucas Oil. Other notable seats being taken up is Isack Hadjar at Red Bull, who will replace his year's champion max Verstappen, while Ryo Hirakawa will take the place of Oscar Piastri at McLaren.
