The Hungarian Grand Prix is the first of another European double header before the summer break.

Red Bull have brought upgrades to the Hungarian Grand Prix but only to Max Verstappen's car.

Sergio Perez makes his 270th Grand Prix start at the Hungarian Grand Prix. A victory for Lewis Hamilton would see him equal his record broken at the last race with nine victories at a single circuit. A top three finish for Lewis Hamilton would give him 200 podiums. If Lewis Hamilton gets Pole this weekend it would make him the first driver to record ten poles at a single track.

If Lando Norris wins the Hungarian Grand Prix it would be the first time three different British drivers have won in succession since 1965.

Random Stats

  • 3rd shortest track on the calendar
  • Ricciardo scored his 2nd win here in 2014
  • Damon Hill and Michael Schumacher are the only drivers to take a grand slam here. They both took Pole, lead every lap and won here.
  • There have been five winners in 11 years here.
  • The is a lower than 50% Pole to Win conversion rate at the Hungaroring
  • Nobody knew it at the time but the events of 2007 Hungarian Qualifying between Lewis Hamilton & Fernando Alonso in front of the Mclaren garages would give birth to the so called ‘Spy Gate’ scandal and the departure of Mclaren Boss Ron Dennis!
  • The 55% of the lap is spent at full throttle here is the 2nd lowest percentage of the lap spent flat out on the calendar. Only Monaco has a lower percentage.
