An interesting F2 quali sees Dutchman Richard Verschoor on Pole Position.

Qualifying in Baku was interesting to say the least, at least it was for the last 10 minutes or so. Before the session began, Victor Martins' front left brake was on fire. It was quickly extinguished and everything was okay for him to begin the session. 

Not much action happened for most of the qualifying session. There was one moment when a yellow flag was brought out not long into the session due to Denis Hauger taking the escape road and remaining there for a few moments before returning safely onto the track. 

Then, the action began. Around the 5 minute mark, Isack Hadjar locked up and went straight down the escape road into turn one before his teammate Pepe Marti did the exact same thing. Both Campos cars were now out of qualifying with only 4 minutes remaining of the session. It was shortly red flagged before both of the drivers made their was back to the pits. 

When the session resumed, everyone was desperate to improve their times so they all came surging out of the pit lane in order to do so. Times were being improved all over the place and drivers were moving up and down the order as others crossed the line. However, it was Richard Verschoor who managed to come out on top with only 0.017 seconds separating himself and Kimi Antonelli.
