Aston Martin Development driver Jak Crawford put pen to paper with his current Formula 2 team DAMS on Wednesday, to re-sign with the team for the 2025 Formula 2 season. The American driver has endured his first season in 2024 with the DAMS team and his second full season competing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship after spending 2023 with Hitech. Crawford will now spend a second season with DAMS and potentially will look to aim for the title in 2025. Crawford, 19, has had a win already this season and the the driver will hope to impress once again moving on into 2025 to continue his develop as he looks to continue progressing up the motorsport ladder. DAMS Lucas Oil and Formula 2 announced the re-signing of Crawford for 2025 via social media on Wednesday afternoon which makes Crawford the third driver to be announced for the 2025 Formula 2 grid - after Formula 3 2024 graduates Arvid Lindblad and champion Leonardo Fornaroli. Speaking to the press following the announcement, Crawford said: "I'm really happy to be continuing with DAMS Lucas Oil for 2025 following on from a positive campaign so far in 2024. We've still got two rounds of this season to go as we're pushing for a top five finish." Crawford has one win to his name so far in 2024 but has been a consistent performer throughout the season and has been picking up decent results on many occasions. With two rounds remaining, Crawford sits fifth in the standings with 116 points - 53.5 points off the championship lead. With five podiums and one race victory across the season, it has been an impressive campaign for the American driver and he has shown great development. It will be an important season next year for Crawford and he will be aiming towards the title. Brandon Whiteside
