Alpine Academy driver Kush Maini will have a third season of Formula 2 as he signs with DAMS Lucas Oil for 2025 - the team have announced. Maini will compete in his third season in the championship after making his debut back in 2023 with Campos Racing as he partnered Swiss racer Ralph Boschung. The most recent season of 2024 saw an impressive year for Maini as he was part of teams' championship glory with Invicta Racing as his teammate Gabriel Bortoleto won the title. The 24-year old will race for DAMS which will be his third team in three consecutive seasons as he is set to partner Jak Crawford for the 2025 Formula 2 season, who like maini will be enduring his third Formula 2 season after both graduated from Formula 3 together at the end of 2022. DAMS would announce the news on Monday, 24 hours after the conclusion to an epic Formula 2 campaign that saw 18 different drivers take to the top step of the podium. It was announced by DAMS and Formula 2 via social media. On signing for DAMS, speaking to both the team and Formula 2 media, Maini said: "I'm thrilled to be joining a team with such a strong pedigree and history in Formula 2 like DAMS Lucas Oil. "I feel like my story in this championship isn't completed yet and I know this is the right crew to help further my career. I've taken pole positions and won races, so now it's all about consistently delivering over the course of a campaign. "I can't wait to get started this week with post-season testing alongside Jak, and to form an experienced team as we look to battle for the championship in 2025." Maini's first race for DAMS will be at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia between March 14-16 for the opening round of the 2025 Formula 2 season. Brandon Whiteside
