Round 8: Isack Hadjar takes the win and takes the championship lead as Paul Aron runs dry of points at Silverstone. The podium completed with Maloney and Crawford who lost out on the win due to a pitlane unsafe release penalty.
But moments into the action a safety car is deployed for yesterdays race winner Antonelli who was caught by Maini on the first corner to end his race prematurely. Martins leads the pack as the green flag goes again. But Duersken spins off only a few corners in to bring out another safety car as he's beached in the gravel after collision with Paul Aron. Duersken calling Aron "dirty" as not Arons weekend to increase his championship lead as damage sends him back to p19. Later receiving a +10 penalty for the incident. Many soft tyre runners stopping in the pits once the track goes green again on lap 7 including Fittipaldi and Verschoor. Ollie Bearman losing his p2 to Hadjar moments before they pit as they fight to get track position to get back out, but Bearman has issues and Hadjar manages to gain a few car lengths advantage.
Hadjar and Martins go head to head round abbey but Martins is sent off. Crawford and Maloney enter the fight down the wellington straight as they battle it out Crawford receives a +5 penalty for his pit lane incident. All this battling playing into the hands of Colapinto who's now got a 30 second lead and yet to pit, which would see him renter the track in the battle for the a podium. Which he does Colapinto goes in with 6 laps to go, coming out in p4 behind Martins, Maloney, Hadjar and Crawford. He picked up the pace flying with purple picking off Martins. Now eyes are on Maloney and Hadjar. Hadjar not only fighting for the win but the biggest points gap possible now his championship lead contender Paul Aron is out the points. Crawford takes the flag first but with a penalty Hadjar wins the Silverstone feature race followed by Maloney, then Crawford manges to keep himself on the podium as the three move up the championship standings. Mega fight for a podium for Colapinto who just missed out sits in 4th, followed by Martins and Bortoleto. Ollie Bearman finishes highest for the Brits in 7th and Fittipladi completes the points in 8th. Formula 2 comes back in action in Hungary: July 19-21 Bronwen Jones
