British talent and Red Bull junior Arvid Lindblad has signed with Campos Racing for the 2025 FIA Formula 2 season, as announced by the team on Thursday. Lindblad will make the step up and has been the second driver to be confirmed for the 2025 Formula 2 grid after Formula 3 champion Leonardo Fornaroli was confirmed at Invicta Racing on September 3. Lindblad, 17, has moved up to FIA Formula 2 after just one season with Prema in FIA Formula 3, where he was fighting for the title up until the end of the final race of the season at Monza, where he would unfortunately lose out. He would end up being the top rookie and the only rookie who was in contention in the final round as he finished fourth overall. The Red Bull junior driver will make him the third Red Bull junior in succession to sign with the team, as the current lineup in 2024, for Campos, consists of two Red Bull junior drivers - Isack Hadjar and Josep 'Pepe' Maria Marti. Campos announced the news of Lindblad's signing on Thursday morning, less than 24 hours before they take to the track for round 12 of the 2024 Formula 2 Championship at the Baku City Circuit. They announced the news via social media. He is the fifth out of the six drivers that went into the final round competing for the Formula 3 Championship to be promoted to Formula 2 and the second out of the contenders to get a Formula 2 seat for 2025 - behind Fornaroli with Invicta Racing. On the announcement of his seat for 2025 with Campos, in the FIA Formula 2 Championship, Lindblad gave a comment to Campos via their media team, that was published online. Lindblad said: "Super excited to be joining Campos in F2 for 2025. The team has had an amazing season so far and can't wait to start working alongside together. I look forward to be joining the long list of drivers that have raced for the team in the past and be a part of its heritage and the legacy of Mr Adrian Campos. "The team seems very passionate, hungry and motivated to win. They'll give me the tools and knowledge to continue to develop as a driver.as we push each other to improve. I just want to say thank you to everyone at Red Bull, the Junior Team and Campos for the opportunity. I can't wait to get started." Lindblad has not had many years of single-seating racing and made his debut at the age of 15 in the Italian F4 Championship in 2022. He would only compete eight times towards the end of that championship but he would compete full time in the 2023 championship. The British driver would go on to finish third overall in that year's Italian F4 Championship but he would be the rookies' champion. A great achievement for Lindblad. Another achievement of Lindblad's is winning the Macau Formula 4 Race, which also took place in 2023. This year, in his rookie season for Formula 3, he showed his brilliant talent nd skill to win an amazing four times, which was more than any other driver across the season. The four wins included an incredible double at Silverstone, in front of his home crowd to bring himself within touching distance of the championship. Despite not winning the title, it was still a successful Formula 3 campaign for Arvid Lindblad. Overall, he grabbed four wins, five podiums and one fastest lap, which led him to fourth in the standings with 113 points. It can be considered a successful season as Lindblad has earned and raced his way to graduation to Formula 2, which is the next step on the road to F1 and with the talent he has shown so far who knows where he could end up in the future. Lindblad's first Formula 2 weekend will be in March 2025, as it stands, in Melbourne, Australia in support of the opening round of the 2025 Formula One World Championship. Brandon Whiteside
