Czech Republic's Roman Stanek is to make a return to Formula 2 with Invicta Racing to complete their 2025 driver lineup, the team confirmed on Monday. Stanek, who is already a race winner in Formula 2, departed the championship after the round in Monza and missed the final three rounds of the season in Baku, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. The 20-year old has endured almost two full seasons of FIA Formula 2 and is set for a third in 2025 as he will partner up with 2024 FIA Formula 3 champion Leonardo Fornaroli. Stanek was announced to be joining the team on Monday morning where many teams were announcing their driver lineups for the 2025 Formula 2 Championship, 24 hours from the conclusion of the 2024 racing campaign at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. Then signing would be announced by Formula 2 media and Invicta Racing with Invicta becoming the first team to announce their full driver lineup. Quite fitting considering they have come off the back of just winning the teams' championship and are first in completing their driver lineup. Speaking to team and Formula 2 media about his signing, Stanek said: "I can't wait to drive for Invicta Racing in 2025. The team has been fighting at the front of the field all season, achieved some really great results and is undoubtedly one of the most desirable options in the paddock for next year. "That means there'll be some pressure for Leonardo [Fornaroli] and I, but I think we're up to the challenge. I'm ready for whatever F2 throws at me in 2025." Stanek picked up his maiden and only Formula 2 victory at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia after inheriting the sprint race victory after 2024 runner up Isack Hadjar was penalised following a crash at the start. Albert Park will be the opening round venue for the 2025 Formula 2 season where Stanek will make his Invicta Racing team debut between March 14-16. Brandon Whiteside
