Post-season testing dates are confirmed for October with Formula 3 set to visit two Spanish venues

Formula 3 have confirmed their post-season testing dates for October as the championship will visit two Spanish venues, which was announced on Monday.

At the start of September, the racing in the 2024 Formula 3 Championship concluded with Leonardo Fornaroli taking the title with a last lap overtake at the final corner at Monza, at the Italian Grand Prix weekend.

It was a fantastic season with so much competition and so much excitement with twists and turns from the first round in Bahrain to the 10th final round at Monza. It truly was a fantastic season with 12 different winners across the 20 races and 21 different podium finishers from the 30 full-time drivers.

However, as is usual Formula 3 will complete post-season testing which the drivers and teams will head to a specific circuit or circuits to complete some test sessions. This is a chance sometimes for drivers who will join up to the championship in 2025.

At the end of the 2023 season, the post-season testing was held at Imola in Italy, however, for 2024 the testing will take place in Spain over two weeks at different circuits. 

Each post-season test will be across two days at a particular circuit each, with the locations being Jerez and the Circuit Barcelona-Catalunya. The Circuit Barcelona-Catalunya is a circuit where they have already raced and completed mid-season testing in 2024 so it will be a circuit the teams and drivers know well and they will visit Jerez which is used in the Spanish F4 Championship.

The first test will be at Jerez and that will take place on October 8 (Tuesday) and October 9 and then the test at Barcelona will take place on October 14 (Monday) and October 15 (Tuesday) - almost one week later.

It will be an exciting time and opportunity to see what the future Formula 3 stars can do in their post-season testing and learn Formula 3 machinery and to try and earn a seat for the 2025 campaign.
