For the first time in three weeks, Formula E is returning to racing action this coming round, for two rounds across two days in the principality of Monte Carlo, Monaco. The infamous place that first saw Grand Prix racing back in 1929, has adapted E-Prix racing since Formula E visited Monaco for the very first time back in the 2018/19 season. Although in recent times they have raced around the layout that has been used by Grand Prix racing for almost a century. It will also be the first time in the history of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship that there will be a double round weekend at Monaco, with the action to take place over two days - Saturday and Sunday. This is to do with traditions allowing no participation on Friday. There will be a busy weekend for the teams and drivers and a weekend full of action that will be extra compact with the additional fourth session on Saturday, with Free Practice 1 taking place at 07:30am local time. It creates extra pressure for the extra teams and drivers including Nissan's Oliver Rowland who leads the championship coming into the event. Rowland has 69 points, which means he has a 15-point advantage over Antonio Felix Da Costa who sits second in the standings. To make important and positive ground this weekend, the drivers will need to be on top form to ensure they maximise point-scoring situations that arise to them. The drivers will be up against it though on one of the most challenging circuits in world motorsport. Formula E will go racing around the iconic Circuit De Monaco, situated in the principality Monegasque capital of Monte Carlo. The circuit which has 19 turns and a lap distance of 3.337km will provide arguably the biggest challenge for the Formula E field in the 2024/25 season. This was the place in 2023/24 where young sensational Brit Taylor Barnard made his Formula E debut for NEOM McLaren, who replaced Sam Bird due to his now-teammate withdrawing due to a hand injury which ruled him out of action. Barnard may be fancying his chances around the very famous Circuit De Monaco having won here in FIA Formula 2 in 2024, with AIX Racing. He drove a commanding race and held off a charging Gabriel Bortoleto who ended up winning the title and graduating to Formula One. However, with all the grid having raced around the Circuit de Monaco whether that be in Formula E or other categories. They will need to use all that experience to get the best of what will be a mentally-challenging weekend, with the characteristics of this circuit. 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship: Rounds 6 & 7 - Monaco session times
