The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship returns this coming weekend for round five of the 2024/25 season, as it visits Homestead, Miami for the very first time.

Formula E has not been racing since February 15 when the World Championship visited another brand new venue in the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, situated in Saudi Arabia. This will be a test for the drivers to see if they can pick up from where they left off in the first four rounds of the season.

Homestead, Miami is a brand new venue for Formula E to officially race at, as part of a World Championship official calendar. However, in March there were Evo sessions around the circuit, where celebrities from various backgrounds were coached by some of the current driving talent on this year's grid. YouTube star Mr Beast and former Manchester City footballer Sergio Aguero were among the names that participated.

Formula E is not exactly a stranger to racing in the United States of America with venues such as Portland, New York and Long Beach having played host to rounds over the years. It will not be the first time that Formula E would have gone racing in Miami, with a round in 2015 taking place at the Biscane Bay street circuit.

The Homestead-Miami Speedway is the location for Formula E in the 2024/25 campaign and the inner layout is what the championship will use this coming weekend to go racing for a sole round five. The circuit itself is made up of 15 corners and has a lap distance of 3.551km.

Nissan driver Oliver Rowland comes into the round at Miami with the championship lead, having accumulated 68 points from the opening four rounds so far and three top two finishes. Two of those have been victories which came in Mexico City and the second round in Jeddah.

Rowland has a 17-point lead over fellow Brit and NEOM McLaren rookie Taylor Barnard, who will be looking to continue his fine start to the season. Antonio Felix Da Costa is third in the championship standings with 39 points.
