Formula E's youngest ever driver Taylor Barnard topped Free Practice 2 ahead of E-Prix race day at the Homestead Speedway, for the 2024/25 Miami E-Prix. Barnard set the fastest lap of the session to help him feel the most confident ahead of the day's later qualifying session and E-Prix. The NEOM McLaren driver set the fastest time which was a 1:23.339 and it was a tenth clear of any of the other 21 drivers. The 20-year old topped the time sheets almost two tenths clear of Antonio Felix Da COsta of Porsche. Mahindra's Nyck De Vries completed the top three in a fine session for the team, with other driver Edoardo Mortara finishing in seventh. Championship leader Oliver Rowland would end up eighth, a progress on 19th in FP1, after the Nissan driver had mechanical issues during Friday's session. Nissan had both cars inside the top 10 with Norman Nato finishing ahead of his teammate in sixth. Despite finishing fastest in Free Practice 1, Nick Cassidy could only manage 19th for Jaguar TCS Racing! His teammate and winner of the season opener, Mitch Evans, would finish fourth. Reigning champion Pascal Wehrlein would finish ninth behind teammate Da Costa. He will be hoping for a better result when qualifying comes later during the day on Saturday! 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship: Round 5 - Miami E-Prix Free Practice 2 result
