Rumours have surfaced that Yuki Tsunuda and Daniel Ricciardo will be kept on for the 2024 season with the Italy based team. Currently, the teams reserve, Liam Lawson is standing in for injured Daniel Riccardo and has recorded Alpha Tauri’s best result of the season after only three races in the series. Lawson finished the Singapore GP 9th, while his team mate Tsunoda crashed out in the first lap after colliding with Sergio Perez. Tsunoda's best finish of the season is 10th. The Japanese driver has collected three points so far this season, 1 in Melbourne, 1 in Baku and his latest in Spa. The Kiwi becomes the fourth person to drive for Redbull’s sister team this year, who have yet to confirm it’s 2024 drivers line up. The team started the season with returning driver Yuki Tsunoda, who’s contract ends this season, and Nick De Vries who was let go off, following the British GP in July after failing to reach Helmut Markos' expectations. De Vries was replaced by Daniel Ricciardo after picking up 0 points for the team, his best finish being in Monaco where he placed 12th. However, only three races into Ricciardo’s season he broke his hand in practice in Zandvoort. He has yet to score any points and sits bottom of the drivers championship in 22nd. It seems likely that Ricciardo will be out until at least Qatar. Alpha Tauri are the only team left to have no confirmed drivers for next season, with Williams and Alfa Romeo, each, still with one seat left.
