Here we Finally are.….. The first 8 races of the season have been confirmed. This has been long awaited and I'm sure that everyone will be thrilled with the news.
Within the Formula 1 world everyone has been working tirelessly to help get the season back up and running again as quickly and as safely as possible. This morning Chase Carey announced the Revised calendar for the start of the season, with the following races still to be confirmed. The Season kicks of with lights out in Austria for a back to back race weekend on the 5th July and round 2 on the 12th July. Then we move on to the Hungarian GP for the 19th July before heading to the UK's iconic racetrack Silverstone where we will be treated again to another back to back race weekend duo. Round 6 of the Championship sees us heading of to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on the 16th August. 30th August, round 7, Spa Francorchamps followed by the Italian GP on the 6 September. All of the above races will have the F2 and F3 supporting them. Races at the moment are without spectators due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19 but Formula one will reopen the gates again only when it is safe to do so. Chase Carey, Chairman and CEO of Formula 1, said: “In the past weeks we have been working tirelessly with all our partners, the FIA and the teams to create a revised opening 2020 calendar allowing us to restart racing in the safest possible way. "We are pleased to be able to set out our opening eight race calendar today and look forward to publishing our full calendar in the coming weeks. "I want to thank every promoter and partner for their support and ongoing commitment to Formula 1. "While we currently expect the season to commence without fans at our races we hope that over the coming months the situation will allow us to welcome them back once it is safe to do, but we know the return of Formula 1 will be a welcome boost to sports fans around the world.”
